Analysis and specification development stage:
- Hazard and operability analysis (HAZOP)
- Defining the Safety Instrumented Functions (SIF) list and SIL levels assignment
- Safety Requirements Specification (SRS) as a part of functional specification for system design
- Elaborating the ESD fault tolerance and degradation requirements
Engineering and implementation stage:
- Project engineering for ESD / SIS system and ESD software (PLC, SCADA) using V-model
- Project documentation and software verification and validation
- Verify achievement of the required SIL levels for SIFs
- Elaborating FAT procedure for ESD / SIS system and FAT implementation
- Elaborating SAT procedure of ESD / SIS system and SAT implementation
- Acting as an independent contractor for verification and validation
Operation stage:
- Management of changes (analysis of changes impact and criticality, controlling the documentation adaption to incorporate changes, FAT/SAT execution after changes)
- Periodic SIFs testing (determining the required time intervals, elaborating procedures, trial testing)
- Independent inspection of ESD /SIS systems
